Red Dress Sundays

Open to all Charleston-area churches & houses of worship

Sundays in February

Red Dress Sunday began in February 2005 with three African-American and Latino churches in Baltimore. It has grown to include more than 180 places of worship in Maryland, Florida, Georgia, and Delaware. In 2019, we brought it to Charleston, South Carolina!

Protect your members

Heart disease is the # 1 cause of death among women, yet most women don’t know about the threat. We're committed to raising their awareness! Our goal for this event is to ensure Charleston's women know about heart disease — how to recognize symptoms, how to treat it, and most importantly, how to prevent it in the first place.

Join us!

In 2019, this inaugural month-long event took place at multiple houses of worship across Charleston on a Sunday in February as chosen by each church. Participants wore red to bring attention to heart disease as they learned about risk factors and more... plus they came away with heart-healthy educational materials. Sign up your church for 2020!

We thank these houses of worship and organizations across the Charleston region for taking part in our 2020 #RedDressSundays! They helped to protect the women in their congregations from heart disease. Sign up your house of worship or organization to take part in our 2021 #RedDressSundays!
